Michelle
Hoffman
in her review in the Scottsdale Republic writes "Here,
two actors merely sit in chairs and read to the audience from a book
of letters. Written by A.R. Gurney, this charming two-person Pulitzer Prize-nominated drama has been a “hit” wherever it is performed. Love Letters spans the years and explores the relationship between two friends, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace. It is charming, witty and poignant. Desert Foothills Theater's production stars Mary Sprenger Spence and Michael Stewart (nominated for a 2009 AriZoni Award for his work in DFT's production of The World Goes 'Round and 2008 AriZoni Award winner for his role in DFT's I Love You, You're Perfect, Now change. To ensure the intimacy required of this production, audience members AND actors will all be seated on the stage for a unique theatrical experience.
