Acting Up! I ~ Gr. K-2, Session I-IV
Let’s start at the very
beginning… how do I tell a story using movement, voice and
facial expression? This introductory class is a great way to
begin your theater training. Our instructors are all
working theater professionals. With them you will learn the
words used in theatre, how to move on stage, how to create
physical characters, tell a story through movement and
action and much more. Even non-readers will learn basic
storytelling skills by being exposed to literary ideas like
the beginning, middle and end in storytelling, and
understanding exposition, narration and dialogue. The
class will culminate in a sharing our work-in-progress with
family and friends. As you will be part of a performing
group and other students are counting on you to be there for
rehearsal, consistent class attendance is a must. This
class is developed as a year-long course, however new
students may enter at any session. At least two sections of
this class are required as a pre-requisite for students
interested in Acting Up II next year.
